The Sea Tiger · Education Vessel · 120 ft

A 120‑foot floating classroom for the next generation of ocean stewards.

Sea Tiger isn't a research ship. She's something rarer — a vessel built entirely for learning at sea, carrying students, educators, and curious minds across the living waters of Asia.

Our Mission

Fostering a new era of ocean stewardship — one voyage at a time.

At OceanVines, we believe the ocean is humanity's most powerful classroom. Sea Tiger carries that classroom across Asian waters — from the South China Sea to the Coral Triangle — turning every voyage into a hands-on encounter with marine science, sustainable seamanship, and the cultures who call the sea home.

She is the dedicated education flagship of OceanVines: not a converted research vessel, but a purpose-built platform for immersive learning, designed around students, educators, and the communities we serve. Learn more about OceanVines →

The Sea Tiger

More than a boat. A floating classroom built for discovery.

Sea Tiger is a 120-foot dedicated education vessel — equipped not for deep-ocean research, but for something equally vital: bringing young people into direct, sustained contact with the sea. Open decks become open-air classrooms. The galley becomes a lab on blue carbon. The bridge becomes a master class in seamanship.

  • Open-Deck Learning Spaces

Modular workstations for water sampling, microscopy, and citizen-science recording in real ocean conditions.

  • Sustainable Sail-Assist Propulsion

Hybrid power and rigging that doubles as a teaching tool for low-impact, ocean-positive yachting.

  • Dive & Snorkel Platform

Stern-launched RIB and dive ladder for safe, supervised access to reef and mangrove sites throughout Asia.

  • Onboard Media & Story Studio

A capable studio for students to produce films, podcasts, and field journals at sea — creating the next generation of ocean storytellers.

Programs Aboard Sea Tiger

Immersive learning, designed for the open sea.

Each program turns Sea Tiger into a different kind of school — a leadership cohort one week, a blue-carbon research camp the next. Discover our flagship experiences for students, educators, and emerging ocean leaders across Asia.

Education Pillars

What every voyage stands for.

Whatever the program, every Sea Tiger voyage is built around four shared commitments — the spine of how we teach at sea.

01

Asian Ocean Literacy

Curriculum rooted in the seas, species, and cultures of the Asia-Pacific — taught in context, on the water.

02

Hands Before Theory

Knot, sample, dive, log. We start every concept with action — and let understanding follow the salt on the skin.

03

Career Pathways

Every learner leaves with a network — scientists, sailors, conservationists — to carry their next step forward.

04

Stewardship as Practice

We don't just teach about the ocean. We teach how to live with it — through choices, daily habits, and lifelong commitment.

A Day Aboard Sea Tiger

From sunrise watch to evening sky-talk.

Sunrise watch on Sea Tiger

06:00 · Sunrise Watch

Take the helm.

Students rotate onto the bridge for first light, learning to read wind, swell, and chart in real conditions before breakfast on the foredeck.

Field science session

10:00 · Field Science

Sample the sea.

Plankton tows, water-quality kits, and reef surveys feed live data into student notebooks — and into open citizen-science platforms.

Afternoon workshop session

15:00 · Workshop

Build the argument.

Afternoons turn the saloon into a seminar — debating policy, decoding a paper, sketching a campaign for their home coastline.

Evening sky-talk

21:00 · Sky Talk

Read the stars.

Evenings end on deck — celestial navigation, oral histories of Asian seafaring, and quiet reflection beneath the Milky Way.

"I came aboard Sea Tiger to learn about the ocean. I left understanding what kind of person I want to become."
